Tyreek Hill Leaves Week 5 In a Walking Boot

Tyreek Hill was a mid-week addition to the injury report with a quad injury but was able to suit up on Sunday. His day ended early with a new injury.

Hill was seen following the game with a walking boot on his left foot. Mike McDaniel said his foot was stepped on, which would indicate that this is a contusion. The fact that he is in a walking boot could mean the damage is more significant, though. Hill will undergo x-rays to look for a foot fracture. A more detailed scan such as a CT scan or MRI may also be necessary to determine if he has a bone bruise or any other damage such as a ligament sprain. If this is just a contusion he may miss some practice time but should be good to go in week 6. Anything else could force him to miss at least a week.

I’m hopeful that the walking boot was precautionary. The Dolphins aren’t the same team without the speedy Hill on the field. They also already lost Tua Tagovailoa to a concussion, and then Teddy Bridgewater was also ruled out due to concussion protocol today. This was due to the updated changes made following the handling of Tua’s injury in week 3. Bridgewater didn’t have any concussion symptoms, but he stumbled. This falls under ataxia, which means he’s automatically ruled out.
