Antonio Conte has come out and mentioned Dejan Kulusevski’s hamstring injury has worsened, and he could be missing until the World Cup.

Kulusevski picked up the hamstring injury while on international duty for Sweden.

Conte explained in his press conference:

“His recovery was going well and then one day the situation worsened. When this happens you have to restart.”

“You need time, you need time. We have the medical department to face injury situations and they have to face it in a short period. If you are good to solve it in a quick way then it can mean points.”

“I think we have to wait a bit of time to see him with us. It was the same for Richarlison.”

Richarlison sustained an injury against Everton and his absence, along with Kulusevski has left Spurs light up front.

When we look at our algorithm Kulusevski’s HPF is way below average at 44.2 and with his grade two injury we see his optimal recovery time to be around twenty-eight days.  With him being only six days into recovery, it will be hit or miss whether he’ll be ready for the World Cup.

Richarlison’s injury, at first, did not seem serious but we have also classed his injury as a grade two and normally he would need a twenty-eight-day recovery.  With him already twenty-two days into rehabilitation he could be back in time for the World Cup.

Spurs face Newcastle at the weekend and with Harry Kane and Son in form, should still be too strong for Newcastle.
