South Florida Lose Starting QB Gerry Bohanon to Shoulder Surgery

Gerry Bohanon will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a right shoulder injury. Bohanon, a transfer from Baylor, is in his first year with South Florida. He helped lead the Bears to the 2021 Big 12 championship. Despite adding Bohanon under center, South Florida has struggled mightily this year. They are just 1-6 and now have a huge hole on offense.

Bohanon was injured on an 8-yard run in the second quarter on Saturday against Tulane. It’s unclear what his exact injury is, but it could be a torn labrum or rotator cuff. South Florida has been decimated by injuries this season and have 21 scholarship players who have missed time due to injury, including 15 who were missing Saturday.

Katravis Marsh filled in once Bohanon went down, throwing for 150 yards and two touchdowns. He has two starts over the last two seasons.
