- Diontae Johnson (shoulder) – no injury status and will play, I have enough confidence to start him as a WR 2/3 even though he likely isn’t 100%
- Chris Godwin (ACL) – says he will be a game-time decision, but realistically the Bucs already know if he’s going to play or not (he shouldn’t!) – even if he’s active I would try not to play him in fantasy lineups this week
- Christian McCaffrey (shin) – removed from the final injury report, no concerns
- Dak Prescott (ankle) – removed from final injury report, no concerns
- Allen Lazard (ankle) – doubtful, has been trending in the wrong direction all week, clearly this is more serious than just having his foot stepped on
- Zach Ertz (calf) – questionable, if he does end up being active he’s likely to be on a snap count or may be an emergency option, too risky to start
- Robert Tonyan (ACL) – not on final injury report, will play but I don’t trust him in fantasy lineups yet
- George Kittle (groin) – questionable, like Ertz could be on a snap count, unreliable fantasy option for now
- Drake London (knee) – questionable, trending towards playing but may not have a big role after missing most of training camp
- Jaylen Waddle (quad) – removed from final injury report
- J.K. Dobbins (ACL) – officially questionable, I don’t think he plays
- Michael Thomas (hamstring/ankle) – questionable, likely to play, but I don’t trust him yet in fantasy lineups
- Michael Gallup (ACL) – ruled out
Thursday, September 8
- Chris Godwin (ACL) – DNP, this one is big, and we warned yesterday that the FP could be misleading. I’m not expecting Godwin to suit up in week 1, and he shouldn’t. Once October comes his projections will improve significantly (both Injury Risk and performance)
- Christian McCaffrey (shin) – FP, yes he’s already on the injury report, but I’m hopeful this is nothing. He apparently was cut on his shin by a cleat. Unless he needed stitches this isn’t really an injury worth worrying about
- Diontae Johnson (shoulder) – LP, I’m expecting him to play, but it could be a few more weeks before that shoulder is fully healed
- Dak Prescott (ankle) – LP, this is another one that doesn’t sound like too big of a deal. Apparently he switched cleats and that bothered his ankle. He’s going to suit up
- Zach Ertz (calf) – DNP, he missed practice again and is looking very doubtful for week 1, these can be tricky injuries
- George Kittle (groin) – DNP, similar situation to Ertz, muscular strains are tough to recover from, especially this quickly, and teams won’t take the risk this early in the year
- Drake London (knee) – LP, he’s trending in the right direction, and by video he didn’t appear to suffer a knee injury that has me concerned it’s a serious one, the big problem is his lack of practice reps as his rookie season begins, so expect a slow start with minimal usage early on
- Allen Lazard (ankle) – DNP, reports have been floating around that Lazard was stepped on last week, but this sounds more serious
Wednesday, September 7
- Chris Godwin (ACL) – FP, although this is a bit misleading as he hasn’t participated in any contact drills yet, Wednesday may have been more of a walk-through, so we’ll see what he does the rest of the week
- George Kittle (groin) – DNP, Kittle tried to practice through the injury Monday and wasn’t feeling good today, unclear how serious it is but is week 1 availability is in serious jeopardy, high risk of re-injury
- Miles Sanders (hamstring) – FP, expected to play
- Drake London (knee) – LP, team will decide later in the week if he will play, but if active expect a reduced role
- J.K. Dobbins (ACL) – LP, not expected to play this week but is getting closer (likely to miss the first 2-3 weeks of the season)
- Van Jefferson (knee) – DNP, has already been ruled out for Thursday’s season opener
- Michael Thomas (hamstring/ankle) – LP, Thomas’ ankle apparently hasn’t been an issue throughout training camp (although the videos of him early on didn’t look like he was 100%), but then he suffered a hamstring strain, which is concerning. These are highly recurrent injuries
- Sterling Shepard (Achilles) – LP, even if he plays keep expectations low early in the year
- Allen Lazard (foot) – DNP, his foot was apparently stepped on at practice last week, but this sound like something more serious, I’m concerned
- Diontae Johnson (shoulder) – LP
