Bryan Bresee is going to miss his second straight game as he recovers from a kidney infection. The Clemson defensive tackle was diagnosed with the infection last week and missed their win over NC State. Now he will also be sidelined against Boston College.
Bresee was the ACC’s defensive rookie of the year in 2020 and remains a key piece in their defense. He has been cleared to practice but is focusing mostly on conditioning for now. This doesn’t sound like a long-term concern, but he needs to regain his strength before playing in a game. Clemson should be fine without him for one more week. It’s more important to get him healthy down the stretch.
“They’ve kind of got a protocol in place for him. They’re going to condition him this week and push him through every day. Started that yesterday. He’s great. Feels great. All of his numbers are where they need to be, but we kind of want to push him this week. And then if everything goes well as they anticipate, we’ll get him back going next week.” – Head coach Dabo Swinney.
