We haven’t even reached week 1 yet and Christian McCaffrey is on the injury report. Deja vu?
I really don’t think so. Normally it would be time to hit the panic button as McCaffrey has played in just 10 games over the last two seasons, but this time it doesn’t seem concerning. McCaffrey had his shin cut by someone’s cleat, so this isn’t a true injury (at least it doesn’t sound like it is). CMC was listed officially as FP, meaning he didn’t miss any reps, but the Panthers are required to list it.
McCaffrey has battled a high ankle sprain, standard ankle sprain, hamstring strain, AC sprain and quad strain over the lsat two seasons. Now he’s once again viewed as a contender to finish as the top fantasy running back. That is if he can stay healthy, a big if.
There may be another injury that comes that’s a red flag, but for now this isn’t it. Start him with confidence on Sunday.
