Ben Chilwell suffers grade 2 injury

Graham Potter is expecting to be without Ben Chilwell for Chelsea’s nest three games because of his injury.

It looks like Chilwell has suffered a grade two hamstring tendon tear during the midweek win over Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.

He limped off injured in the final few stages of Wednesday night’s game, he is due to have a scan on Friday to gauge the extent of the injury.

Our algorithm has estimated recovery time to be 28 days. With a low HPF of12.13 and high IRC 71.48 we don’t envisage Chilwell to be making a speedy return to action.

It looks certain Chilwell will be absent for this Sunday’s Premier League match against Arsenal, the Carabao Cup third round tie against Manchester City and the league game against Newcastle United.

Chilwell will be hoping to be fit to be named in England’s 26-man squad for the World Cup in Qatar but at this stage it is hit and miss whether he will be on the plane.
